
Test for Reaction to Fire
The activity of the laboratory MTIC InterCert, among the first in Italy to be authorized by the Ministry of the Interior for the Ministerial Decree 26/06/84, allows to issue certifications in the field of reaction to fire.
Products affected: building materials, upholstered furniture, curtains, carpets, plastics, paints, and other combustible materials.
Following the publication of the Ministerial Decree of October 14, 2022 (Official Gazette of October 26, 2022), the Italian classification system for building materials has been repealed. The new decree introduces the Euroclass system in accordance with EN 13501-1, aligning national standards with European fire safety requirements.
MTIC InterCert is accredited by ACCREDIA (Accreditation No. 00162) according to UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 for a wide range of fire tests, including:
- Reaction to fire and small flame tests (UNI 8456, UNI 8457, UNI 9174, UNI 9175, UNI 9176, UNI 9177)
- Radiant heat source tests (EN ISO 9239-1)
- Single burning item tests (EN 13823)
- Ignitability tests (EN ISO 11925-2)
- Classification of fire reaction (EN 13501-1)
- Gross calorific value determination (EN ISO 1716)
To verify CE conformity of construction products under EU Regulation No. 305/2011 (CPR), manufacturers must perform testing through authorized bodies.
MTIC InterCert is a Notified Body (NB 0068) under several EU Regulations, including CPR 305/2011, confirming its competence and authorization to perform fire reaction testing and classification for CE marking purposes.
